About Me
I remember telling people in the 8th grade that I wanted to pursue a career in counseling and that desire only grew stronger over time. I have always been interested in the potential of people to grow, even in the face of adversity. That interest helped to spark my own growth journey.
Part of my process included exploring complex feelings around my past, including my adoption. Doing this work was challenging but worthwhile and my compassionate therapist was paramount in helping me consider alternative perspectives.
I am passionate about making space for others in a way that helps them to feel heard and understood. If you're new to the therapy process, it can be a bit intimidating. I aim to make therapy as accessible and comfortable as possible. This is your time and I want to make sure that is always respected and kept at the forefront.
In my downtime, you can find me playing board games, reading memoirs and novels and psychology books, listening to podcasts, perusing garage sales, and playing Overcooked (a video game) and Uno with my family. I enjoy trying my hand at playing the piano and guitar. If I can talk friends into having an iced Chai latte or chips and salsa outing, I will. Cruising is my favorite method of travel since I don't have to plan a thing. I can be found lurking the Personal Finance sub-reddit, since budget talk is also passion.
I have an affinity for sugar gliders and pangolins and I really enjoy trying to prank my family. I have a very kind, loving son along with a sometimes kind, loving cat. I have a Chiweenie who might make a Zoom appearance because she doesn’t leave my side.
I believe life is best lived with humor, openness, and flexibility. My Myers Briggs type is INFP and my Enneagram types are 2 and 9. I am left-handed and my top values are empathy, connection, authenticity, kindness, and curiosity.
Whoever you are and wherever you are in your journey, I would love to have the chance to work with you. Feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss how we could work towards your goals.
